For years I spent time going to multiple stores to find what I needed, running across town when something was sold out or not available in my size. Thanks to the internet we are no longer subject to the whimsy of retail stock-outs when our favorite toothpaste or the ink on our printers is low. If you know you will run out of something periodically, why not use a delivery service to have those predictable needs met with a routine delivery to your home or office? Now you (or your assistant) are saved the time it takes to reorder, or worse– run to the store at the last minute and wait in line behind someone with a stack of coupons and a history of writing bad checks to that particular store.
This message is especially important as we go into the holiday season. Today's technology makes it easy to order just the right gift while sitting in your living room sipping a cup of hot tea. I even used to order holiday meals to be delivered to my parents when they lived out of state and weren't likely to bother cooking a turkey for just the two of them. They loved it and ended up inviting relatives and neighbors over to share!
